I started my first custom art and mural company in 2009. Since then I have traveled the world painting murals in hotels, private homes, schools, restaurants, galleries and orphanages in 9 countries. My overall style tries to encompass the beauty of the world around me. My private work is usually done on large double-wrapped canvases. I like to capture familiar scenes and give them a boost of unrealistic color pallets and texture.

My murals and commissions reflect my client's vision. I am capable of working in a wide range of styles and am able to work on any surface, from rusty huts in Costa Rica to huge ceiling murals in Chicago galleries. 

I want my art to make people look deep into a space, to notice something different every time they see it. I like to take a bold color and place it where it doesn't seem to fit, to give the painting movement.

Ryan Katz created an amazing mural for our son’s nursery that continues to bring smiles to our faces. We are extremely pleased with Ryan and her mural. The mural certainly brightens his nursery. Ryan was punctual, professional, proficient, and neat and a bonus is that she has such a sweet spirit. We scheduled our appointment a while back when Ryan was out of the country and even with minimal access to technology she maintained communication with me. When I asked Ryan for references she gladly provided me with two references. I only had an opportunity to call one reference who gave her a glowing recommendation. I provided Ryan with an image that I wanted her to create and she duplicated it perfectly. Not only did she create a wonderful work of art using safe paint in a timely manner but she also worked within our budget. The only thing that could make my experience better is if I can hire her to create another mural for me in the future. I highly recommend her for your next project. You won’t be disappointed.

Ryan painted a large interior room (playroom) mural, encompassing several walls and the ceiling. She started with a base color and then used her artistic capabilities to create an entire theme. Ryan did an amazing job! We decided to re-recreate our honeymoon in Tahiti, so we did a Tahitian/beach theme. She made the entire ceiling a sky, complete with realistic clouds and some birds. On the surrounding walls, she incorporated palm trees, other beach flora and fauna, islands in the distance, a parrot, a weathered canoe, a bridge leading to an island, a little tiki hut village over the water, a parasailing couple in the sky, a sand castle with toys and a hermit crab, and for the tedious part: ocean, sand and sky throughout the mural. It is quite detailed and truly transplants you to that place. It all feels so real. The colors and vibrancy are exquisite. Her ability to correctly scale the size of the subject matter is astounding. Ryan is such a hard worker. That playroom takes up about half of an entire story of our home. She was fast but not hurried and completed the whole thing in about four days. She hardly came up for air and she only took breaks to eat, drink and sleep and she denied herself even those basic things often due to being "in the zone." She really listened to what we envisioned and looked several times at examples online with us to figure out exactly what we wanted on those walls. It is obvious that Ryan loves what she does and the work she produces really reflects her passion. I was inspired watching her and I was amazed with what she is able to create/re-create on a large scale. I've honestly never seen anyone produce a mural or large work of art quite like this.

Ryan recently painted a large-scale mural in our school gym as part of a student-to-school gift program. Every single person who saw it was amazed! The staff is so grateful, and most importantly the kids love it. It's a wall of inspirational quotes along with the school motto, and the school has nothing like it!! Absolutely wonderful experience. Ryan Katz is not only a great artist but she really has a talent for the "little customers". My daughter loved being a part of the mural painted in her room. Many parents spend the extra money on a fun mural for their children's room; but I would highly recommend hiring Ryan to make the mural a memory rather than just a mural. My daughter Anabel my out grow the image, but will always enjoy the memory of painting the mural alongside Ryan.
